How many times have you spoken to someone about a situation that you could actually help them with and all you get is “I know, I know.” As a response? Why does it seem that when you have information, skills, and the ability to help someone, they tend to blow you off as if you are pestering them? You can save them some pain and a lot of trouble, but they elect the extra hard course of action just to save face or whatever their excuse may be.
When someone has experience in an area that you are lacking, why not learn from their mistakes, pain and situation without jeopardizing your standing? It is amazing what can be learned from actually listening to someone who has experienced something before you. So when you get that urge to tell that person trying to help you or give you a different view, “I know, I know”, please remember two very important things; 1. Your “knowing” is not the same as doing and as a very wise person stated long ago “A Man with experience is never at the mercy of one with theory.”
